Docker is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical leader for the company's most important customers. This is a strategic role spanning product development, pre-sales, and post-sales customer engagement, reporting to the Director of Solutions Architecture. In this position, you will drive measurable business and technical value through two primary pillars: high-priority customer technical leadership and Docker field technical leadership across a regional area of responsibility. Key responsibilities include partnering with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, and Product teams to accelerate customers' container and AI journeys. You will engage directly with customer technical and business teams to understand their goals and challenges, create comprehensive engagement plans spanning existing and new Docker offerings, and oversee design-partner rapid prototyping engagements to validate product-market fit. You'll deliver custom demos, enablement content, and best-practice guidance to audiences ranging from developers to C-level executives. As a field technical leader, you will serve as a thought leader for your regional area of responsibility, gathering feedback from customer and Docker teams, coordinating with the Field CTO and peer Solutions Architects to prioritize feature requests based on revenue impact, and working directly with product and engineering teams on workflow alignment. You'll be customer-zero for new functionality and contribute to internal and customer enablement strategies. Required qualifications include proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect in complex enterprise environments. You must have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, experience managing customer relationships at technical and business levels, and strong presentation abilities both virtually and in person. Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, DevOps, and modern application architectures is essential. Development experience and familiarity with Docker, container ecosystems, or adjacent technologies are strongly preferred. You must be fluent in English and willing to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally as a senior Docker representative.
