Alkira, a Lumen company, is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to join its growing Solutions Architect team. This is a hands-on technical role embedded directly with the company's largest strategic Enterprise accounts, spanning from pre-sales technical validation through production deployment, adoption, and expansion on Alkira's Network-Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform.
In this role, you will serve as the technical owner for strategic customers, demonstrating Alkira's key technical differentiators and architecting solutions that help enterprises transform their networks. You will sit at the intersection of Sales, Engineering, and customer success, winning technical evaluations, deploying real solutions in customer environments, and shaping the product roadmap based on deep customer technical insights.
Key responsibilities include embedding with strategic customers as the hands-on technical owner from evaluation through production deployment; leading network architecture discussions with customers and partners; designing, building, and deploying Alkira-based solutions using best practices; developing automation, integrations, and tooling (Terraform, APIs, scripting) to accelerate deployments; collaborating directly with customer networking, cloud, and platform teams; conducting technical workshops and training sessions; creating design and architecture best practices and reference architectures; providing deep technical support and troubleshooting; owning customer success on key accounts from adoption and expansion perspectives; and working with Product Management and Engineering to provide customer-lens feedback on upcoming features.
Minimum qualifications include 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (consulting, solutions architecture, sales engineering, or professional services); 1+ years of hands-on experience architecting and deploying cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI); strong cloud and networking fundamentals; hands-on experience designing and building hybrid and public cloud infrastructure; strong networking background in routing technologies and network security; proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Python, REST APIs); strong passion for customer outcomes and creating lasting professional relationships; flexibility to travel to customer sites; excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in large-scale network design/deployment, relevant technical certifications, and a BA/BS/MS degree are pluses.
