Salary: USD 252,000 - 330,000 / annual
Snowflake is seeking a Principal Solution Engineer to drive customer success and close large enterprise deals. This is a hybrid role based in Menlo Park, CA, with approximately 30% travel to customer sites.
You will be the technical bridge between Snowflake's sales team, channel partners, and enterprise customers. Your responsibilities include presenting Snowflake's data platform and AI capabilities to C-suite executives and technical teams, conducting hands-on demonstrations and proof-of-concepts, and architecting solutions that address complex customer challenges. You'll work directly with prospects throughout the entire sales cycle—from initial discovery and competitive positioning through implementation and deployment.
Key responsibilities:
- Present Snowflake technology vision to executives and technical audiences
- Conduct value-based demonstrations and lead enterprise proof-of-concepts
- Perform deep discovery of customer architecture and map solutions to Snowflake's data platform
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to refine offerings and positioning
- Maintain expertise in competitive landscape, data warehouse technologies, and cloud infrastructure
- Support deal closure through technical credibility and business acumen
Required qualifications:
- 8-12 years of industry experience, with minimum 5 years in pre-sales or solution engineering
- 5+ years building and deploying machine learning and generative AI solutions in cloud environments
- Deep expertise in large-scale database, data warehouse, ETL, analytics, and cloud technologies (Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric)
- Hands-on proficiency with SQL, SQL analytics, and Python
- Outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent; Master's in Data Science or MBA preferred
- Experience with Global Systems Integrators (EY, Deloitte, Accenture) is beneficial
