In this role, you will be responsible for setting the long-term technical vision for the mobile platform end-to-end, designing and building critical systems that power ServiceTitan's iOS and Android applications. You'll drive major architectural and strategic decisions, particularly those related to scale and performance. Key responsibilities include improving security, availability, reliability, and performance of mobile products; building tools and systems that increase engineer efficiency; identifying opportunities to extract or build shared systems benefiting multiple teams; and mentoring engineers across the mobile organization.
You'll spend approximately 60% of your time on hands-on development and 40% on strategic work including roadmap contribution, resource planning, metrics definition, cross-functional collaboration, and team building activities such as interviewing and lead generation.
Required qualifications include 15+ years of industry experience building large-scale consumer or enterprise mobile applications, with 10+ years in senior engineering roles designing APIs, abstractions, and tools for other engineers. You must have expert-level knowledge of native iOS development (Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI, Xcode) and/or native Android development (Kotlin, Jetpack, Android Studio), with deep expertise in one platform and strong working knowledge of the other.
Additional requirements: proven experience architecting mobile apps for scale (modularization, offline-first design, dependency injection); experience refactoring monolithic codebases to modular, domain-based architectures; strong background in mobile performance engineering (app startup time, memory/battery efficiency, rendering performance, crash-free rates); experience with mobile observability tools (Firebase Crashlytics, Datadog, New Relic, Application Insights); familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines and release automation (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, TeamCity); deep knowledge of version control, unit/UI testing, debugging, and profiling tools; experience integrating large-scale third-party SDKs and APIs; working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS); strong communication and technical writing skills; and a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
