Veeam Software, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer, Federal to lead its federal go-to-market strategy ahead of FedRAMP authorization (targeted end of 2026). This is a strategic, non-traditional presales role focused on market and technical evangelism across the U.S. Public Sector.
You will serve as Veeam's Federal Principal Technologist and trusted advisor, engaging agency executives, policy leaders, systems integrators, and industry partners to build technical credibility and cultivate champions. Operating ahead of the pipeline, you will evangelize Veeam's four strategic pillars: Data Resilience, Cyber Resilience, Data & AI Trust, and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM).
Key responsibilities include:
- Market & technical evangelism at industry events, agency briefings, partner forums, and policy roundtables, translating Veeam's platform vision into narratives that resonate with civilian, DoD, and intelligence community stakeholders
- Executive & policy engagement: build trusted relationships with agency C-level technology leaders (CIO/CISO/CTO), acquisition leads, and mission owners
- FedRAMP readiness champion: partner with Product, Security, Compliance, and Federal leadership to translate FedRAMP program status into credible narratives and gather federal-specific requirements
- Partner & alliance enablement: work with systems integrators, resellers, and strategic partners (Microsoft, hyperscalers, federal-focused partners) to build joint narratives and reference architectures
- Champion Veeam's Securiti AI acquisition and DataAI Command Platform as the foundation for federal DSPM and responsible AI adoption
- Develop thought leadership content: briefings, whitepapers, webinars, conference sessions, and executive narratives
- Serve as voice of the field, connecting federal market signal to Product Management, Strategy, and Engineering
- Support high-priority federal opportunities and executive briefings on an as-needed basis
- Partner deeply with VP of Federal Sales to align market-building activity to business outcomes
This role requires deep expertise in data protection, cyber resilience, and security, along with executive presence to influence senior government leaders. Travel up to 60-75% across federal markets, customer engagements, and industry events.
