Socure is building identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy, verifying identities in real time and stopping fraud before it starts. This Principal Product Operations Manager role sits at the center of the Product Operations discipline, owning systems, data, processes, and strategy-execution alignment across the product organization.
The role operates in a hybrid centralized/embedded model, where you serve as the shared systems, process, and reporting engine that every product manager and embedded product ops partner relies on. You'll own four core areas:
**Product Systems & Tools:** Administer and configure the core product management/roadmapping platform (Aha!, Productboard, or equivalent), including workspaces, fields, workflows, scorecards, and permissions. Own the connection between the product platform and engineering work-tracking systems (Jira, Linear, etc.), managing field mapping and data consistency. Evaluate new tools, prevent sprawl, and maintain integrations across roadmap, delivery, feedback, and CRM systems. Build and maintain intake and prioritization workflows. Document system configuration and SOPs to prevent knowledge concentration.
**Reporting & Analytics:** Build and maintain dashboards and reports giving leadership and teams visibility into roadmap status, delivery progress, and portfolio health. Define and track core product operations metrics (cycle time, roadmap adherence, planning hygiene, tool adoption). Centralize Product Performance metrics definition and telemetry builds, coordinating with central BI teams. Partner with Finance, Sales/RevOps, and Engineering to bring commercial and delivery data into product prioritization. Support recurring reporting cadences (business reviews, quarterly/annual planning, board updates) with clean, trusted data. Monitor data quality and drive hygiene standards.
**Process, Efficiency & Enablement:** Design and document repeatable processes for planning, prioritization, intake, and roadmap reviews. Identify friction points and manual work in the product development lifecycle and fix them through process, automation, or tooling. Build templates, playbooks, and checklists (feature intake, roadmap reviews, launch readiness). Act as the go-to resource for product managers on tool and process usage—training, office hours, documentation. Facilitate cross-functional handoffs between Product, Engineering, Design, and GTM. Standardize process across pods while maintaining necessary flexibility.
**Strategy-Execution Alignment:** Partner with product leadership to translate strategy and company priorities into concrete, trackable roadmaps and planning cadences. Run the rhythm of planning—quarterly/annual cycles, roadmap reviews, business reviews—keeping execution connected to strategy. Monitor progress against strategic priorities and flag drift early. Support trade-off and prioritization conversations when competing asks conflict with stated priorities. Ensure work in individual pods visibly ladders up to company-level strategic themes. Close the loop after major planning moments, ensuring decisions get reflected in day-to-day systems.
This is a broad, intentionally full-stack role. At larger companies, these responsibilities are often split into two or three separate roles; here, one person owns all of it with flexibility to shift emphasis as priorities and team size evolve.
**Requirements:**
- 10+ years in Product Operations, Business/Sales Operations, or Product Analyst/Management role, ideally supporting or working inside a product or engineering organization
- Hands-on experience working in or familiarity with a product roadmapping/PPM tool (Aha!, Productboard, Jira Product Discovery) and a work-tracking tool (Jira, Linear, Azure DevOps)
- Comfort building dashboards and reports (in PPM tools, Tableau, Looker, or Google Sheets/Excel); SQL is a plus
- Experience using LLM-based tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) to augment and optimize job and role-related workflows, dashboards, and research
- Experience designing and documenting repeatable processes (intake, prioritization, planning cadences), not just running existing ones
- Working knowledge of PDLC and SDLC processes—roadmaps, backlogs, sprints, prioritization frameworks (RICE, WSJF), different product profiles (0-1 products, mature products), and PDLC processes to support them
- Comfort facilitating conversations where strategic priorities and day-to-day execution are in tension, helping stakeholders land on decisions
- Strong analytical skills—able to turn messy or scattered data into actionable insights
- Generalist mindset with genuine comfort moving between technical configuration, process design, and data/reporting work in the same week
- Bias toward noticing inefficiency and fixing it, even outside official scope
- Excellent documentation and communication skills—you're the connective tissue between central leadership and embedded product teams
- Ability to work autonomously on a small, fast-moving team where priorities shift
