Fin (part of Intercom) is an AI Customer Agent company building the highest-performing AI customer support solution on the market. The company serves nearly 30,000 global businesses and is one of the largest private software companies in the world.
This is a senior individual contributor role in product marketing, focused on establishing and owning Fin's competitive strategy function from the ground up. You will drive impact through the quality of your thinking and ability to move sales, enablement, and campaigns to execute with confidence.
The role is approximately 70% competitive intelligence and positioning work today, expanding over time to include broader sales plays and enablement. You will own how Fin positions itself against tier-1 competitors, build a sustainable competitive intelligence program, and create the plays and content that enable the field to win deals.
Key responsibilities include: establishing Fin's competitive function (intelligence, messaging, operating system); defining differentiation messaging against key competitors; building an AI-driven competitive intelligence program with Research, Solutions Engineering, and GTM; operationalizing competitive strategy through battle cards and objection handling; synthesizing win/loss data and customer interviews into strategic recommendations; co-building proactive compete motions and sales plays; and creating high-quality PMM assets that feed an AI-first approach.
You will work directly with sales leadership, research, solutions engineers, GTM strategy, and sales enablement. This is a hands-on role requiring deep engagement with the product, market dynamics, and competitive moves.
Required experience: 7+ years in product marketing, competitive intelligence, or solutions marketing at B2B SaaS; proven track record owning competitive strategy end-to-end (not just battle cards); experience turning win/loss and customer insights into strategy that changed how the field sells; ability to build content the field actually uses; experience operating in fast-shipping environments without losing quality.
You should be a hybrid strategist, storyteller, and technologist who moves fluidly between customer insight, product detail, competitive analysis, and creative expression. Strong written communication, editorial judgment, and the ability to push for specificity are essential. You are product-obsessed, technically engaged, and comfortable reading documentation and diving into technical details before crafting messaging.
