G2 is the world's largest software marketplace, recently unified with Capterra, SoftwareAdvice, and GetApp to create a centralized platform for software buying decisions. With 200M+ annual visitors and 6M verified reviews, G2 serves as a trusted data foundation for both software buyers and sellers in the age of AI. As Principal Product Manager for Buyer Products, you will own the complete buyer experience across G2.com, G2.ai, and the Capterra, SoftwareAdvice, and GetApp properties. This is a senior individual-contributor role with a general manager mindset—you are accountable for business outcomes, not just feature delivery. Your core charter is to convert anonymous traffic into known, returning buyers and generate the highest-quality demand in B2B software. Key responsibilities include: **Strategy & Roadmap**: Own the product vision, roadmap, and operating metrics for Buyer Products. Make clear strategic bets, sequence them thoughtfully, and define what will not be built. Start from the buyer's perspective, obsessing over what enables confident software decisions while treating buyer trust as a long-term asset. Balance buyer value against revenue by working with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and monetization teams. **Build & Ship**: Lead discovery, define requirements, and drive delivery with Engineering and Design. Prototype, write specs, and ship changes using AI-native tools for speed. Run a high-cadence experimentation program with Data Science and Analytics—define hypotheses, read results, and make ship/iterate/kill decisions quickly. Work in small, AI-enabled squads with a bias toward shipping and learning. **Buyer Insight**: Become the company expert on how buyers research and evaluate software, including how AI assistants reshape that process. Run continuous qualitative and quantitative research with senior buyers. Translate buyer signals into product decisions and clear narratives for the executive team. **Leadership**: Align Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing, and Revenue teams around one buyer strategy. Mentor PMs, help set hiring standards, and shape how the PM organization operates. **Requirements:** - 10+ years of product management experience, including Principal- or lead-level ownership of a major consumer-facing product - B2B SaaS experience with clear understanding of how buyers research, evaluate, and purchase software and how vendors go to market - GM mindset: you have owned a P&L, business line, or growth number and make decisions based on business impact - Record of shipping consumer-grade products at scale (growth, personalization, search/discovery, or marketplace experiences where the product had to earn adoption) - 0-to-1 experience: you have launched or scaled a new product or category from concept through growth - Strong product taste and craft; ability to critique design, set quality bars, and distinguish good from finished - Fluency with data and experimentation; use metrics, A/B tests, and closed-loop reporting for high-stakes decisions - AI-native working style: daily use of AI tools for research, prototyping, analysis, and shipping; point of view on how AI changes discovery and evaluation - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence senior stakeholders in ambiguous environments **Nice-to-haves:** - Experience with two-sided marketplaces, review or UGC platforms, media/content-led products, or data and insights products - Experience growing logged-in/registered user bases and building lifecycle, personalization, or recommendation systems - Experience designing for AI assistants, agents, MCP, or similar integrations - Experience mentoring senior PMs
