Salary: USD 141,520 - 208,000 / annual
Twilio is seeking a Principal Public Relations Manager to join the Corporate Communications team. This is a strategic, wide-ranging role supporting Twilio's executives, customers, partners, and employer brand through external communications.
You will be a core member of Twilio's PR team, collaborating closely with partners across Social Impact, People, Investor Relations, Legal, Brand, and Corporate Communications to craft compelling external narratives that generate press coverage and awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Employer Brand PR: Partner with the People team to drive awareness of Twilio as a great place to work by spotlighting company people, values, and culture through proactive external storytelling.
- Own External CAO Communications: Design and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy for Twilio's Chief Administrative Officer, including media opportunities, thought leadership, speaking engagements, and LinkedIn social presence.
- Manage Partner and Customer PR: Work with Partner and Customer Marketing teams to identify external storytelling opportunities highlighting Twilio's customers and partners. Proactively pitch media on how customers and partners use the platform.
- Lead Social Impact PR: Work with Twilio's Chief Social Impact Officer to develop thought leadership content and secure media coverage spotlighting Twilio.org and social impact organizations using Twilio's products.
- Support Financial Communications: Support quarterly earnings, acquisition, and industry investment announcements by working with the Investor Relations team.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Lead PR programs and drive media relations through proactive press outreach, collaborating with internal teams and external agency partners.
Approximately 20% travel is anticipated.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications, or public relations, ideally within a high-growth or enterprise technology environment
- Exceptional media relations with demonstrated ability to successfully pitch and place stories in top-tier business and technology outlets, even without hard news
- Proven track record of directly supporting and advising C-suite leaders in high-stakes, fast-moving environments
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with executive judgment and ability to capture a specific leader's authentic voice
- Strong business acumen and financial communications experience, ideally with a publicly traded company
- Strategic and systematic thinker who can establish high-level narratives and execute with tactical precision
- Exceptional organizational skills with calm-under-pressure demeanor and ability to manage competing priorities on tight timelines
- Strong collaborative skills with proven ability to work with multiple cross-functional partners simultaneously
DESIRED:
- Active practitioner of AI with strong interest in how artificial intelligence is transforming public relations and communications
- Familiarity with enterprise technology, cloud communications, API technologies, data platforms, and customer engagement landscape
- Experience managing executives' social media presence (e.g., LinkedIn) with eye for digital engagement trends
- Experience working in both fast-paced agency environments and in-house roles
