Twilio is seeking an experienced Principal Internal Communications Manager to serve as a strategic thought partner and individual contributor within the Internal Communications function, reporting to the Internal Communications Lead. This is a high-impact role focused on protecting company culture, aligning the global workforce of 5,500+ employees, and navigating complex corporate moments with discretion and strategic acumen.
Key responsibilities include: partnering on global internal communications strategy and execution; serving as the primary point of contact with external communications during strategic projects and crises to ensure narrative alignment; owning end-to-end strategy and execution for highly sensitive employee communications including employment legal issues, ethics cases, regulatory actions, and security incidents; driving internal communication strategy for complex corporate events such as M&A, organizational redesigns, and executive transitions; providing strategic counsel on complex external political and social issues; collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, HR, Employee Relations, Security, and Corporate Affairs; supporting finance communications including ghostwriting for the CFO on financial moments and organizational updates; and flexing across the broader IC portfolio including Q&A prep, All Hands support, and communications campaigns.
The ideal candidate possesses world-class strategic acumen, impeccable discretion, and a calm demeanor under pressure. You are a seasoned expert at navigating complex corporate, legal, and social environments with the rare ability to translate high-stakes business realities into empathetic, clear, and highly effective internal narratives. This is an individual contributor leadership role—you will guide and mentor work without direct people management responsibilities, serving as a cornerstone of the global internal communications function.
