Enterpret is building a platform that transforms unstructured customer feedback into structured, actionable product intelligence using advanced NLP, serverless computing, and analytics. Backed by Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia Capital, the company serves leading product teams at Canva, Notion, Samsung, and Loom. As Principal Engineer for Core Product, you will own the architecture for Wisdom and Agents—the agent-driven engine that reasons over customer feedback and produces structured product insights—alongside Applications and the Context/Contact Graph. This is production-grade agent and ML infrastructure, not experimental work. Key responsibilities include: converting product direction into phased technical plans with estimates, milestones, and risk assessment; making informed trade-offs across correctness, latency, UX, AI/model behavior, reliability, cost, and delivery speed; defining clean responsibility boundaries across frontend, BFF, backend services, agent workflows, ML platforms, and data contracts; reviewing design docs and implementation approaches to catch technical and product gaps early; driving unblock planning while preserving ownership with area leads and senior engineers; partnering closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and GTM to translate complex problems into executable work; and mentoring senior engineers through influence rather than formal authority while staying hands-on with code review, incident reasoning, and implementation risk assessment. You will need 8+ years as a Staff+/Principal-level engineer with a proven track record owning architecture and execution for multi-team product or platform work. Strong foundation in distributed systems, agent systems, ML engineering, ML platforms/MLOps, and frontend/BFF architecture is essential. You should excel at turning ambiguity into executable engineering plans, communicate clearly through design docs and trade-off memos, have a history of mentoring and influencing engineers without formal authority, and be comfortable constructively challenging requirements across functions with high agency and low ego. Success milestones: within 3 months, full ownership of one complex architectural area; within 6 months, independently driving one or two areas end-to-end with trusted technical direction; within 12 months, raising the technical bar for Core Product through durable standards for architecture review, estimation, and production readiness.
