CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal Digital Sustaining Engineer to join its manufacturing and product engineering team in Austin. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. In this role, you will provide engineering support and hands-on problem-solving in a dynamic, high-paced production environment. Your primary focus will be ensuring product performance, yield optimization, and reliability through direct collaboration with manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include: - Drive root cause analysis on manufacturing and field issues - Lead design-to-production transitions, ensuring smooth handoffs from development to manufacturing - Troubleshoot complex technical problems in circuit design, signal integrity, and system integration - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain) to resolve issues and implement improvements - Optimize production processes and yield through systematic problem-solving - Support continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation You will work in a startup environment with hands-on, interactive, and autonomous work. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in circuit theory, digital systems, and troubleshooting methodology. You should enjoy discovering root causes and have a track record of solving complex technical problems in production or manufacturing settings. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical scope and influence across manufacturing operations. You will mentor junior engineers and guide technical decision-making.
