Anduril Industries is seeking a Principal Digital Hardware Engineer to lead the electrical engineering team in designing embedded compute solutions for vehicle management, digital signal processing, and networking applications. This role owns the complete PCB development lifecycle for host boards supporting FPGAs, SoCs, and System-on-Modules, including requirements development, schematic capture, board layout, bring-up, testing, and integration. You will develop and optimize workflows across the FPGA and HDL design cycle—from architecture and functional block definition through simulation, system testing, and HDL library standardization. Collaboration with internal stakeholders is essential to develop scalable strategies for deploying compute solutions across Anduril's product portfolio. You will create and maintain detailed product development schedules, ensuring all team members understand their tasks and deadlines.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), 15+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs in military, automotive, or similar hardware environments, and proven experience leading an electrical engineering team focused on digital design. Technical proficiency is required in HDL languages (VHDL or Verilog), familiarity with MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices, and knowledge of standard interfaces (Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB). You must demonstrate expertise in signal integrity and power integrity design, modern analog and digital electronics, and competence with test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, and test automation. Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent EDA tools is mandatory. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with aerospace and defense standards (DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160, DO-311A, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461), expertise in computer networking, and experience implementing enhanced security measures. This is a full-time position offering competitive salary, equity grants, and comprehensive benefits.
