Brex is seeking a Principal Design Recruiter to lead talent acquisition strategy for the design organization across Product Design, Brand Design, and Design Leadership. This is a strategic, senior-level recruiting role focused on building world-class design teams. You will own the full recruitment lifecycle for design roles, from sourcing and engagement through onboarding. Key responsibilities include partnering with VP and C-level design leaders to define hiring strategy and set craft standards; sourcing and evaluating senior and executive design talent across diverse channels; managing complex offer negotiations and compensation discussions; and developing pipelines for both immediate and long-term hiring needs. You'll lead continuous improvement of recruiting processes and inclusive hiring practices, mentor other recruiters on quality standards, and serve as a thought partner to senior stakeholders on complex hiring challenges. The role includes representing Brex's employer brand within the design community through events, portfolio reviews, and social platforms. Required experience includes proven track record owning recruiting strategy across broader organizations (not just individual searches); deep expertise handling executive-level offers and negotiations with command of compensation models and equity; demonstrated ability to raise hiring bars and mentor other recruiters; strong partnership skills with senior stakeholders; experience defining and evolving interview processes at organizational level; data-driven approach to recruiting efficiency; and background recruiting for design roles with fluency evaluating design portfolios and craft. The role is based in Vancouver with hybrid flexibility: minimum three coordinated days in office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), plus up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.
