Cloudflare is seeking a Principal Content Engineer to lead developer-focused content strategy and execution for the Developer GTM team. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role combining technical writing, software engineering, and systems design.
You will own the content architecture for Developer GTM, defining content types, editorial standards, and quality benchmarks across tutorials, blog posts, sample applications, newsletters, and community education. You'll establish conventions, templates, and tooling that scale quality across the team while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
Key responsibilities include building systems that treat content as software—versioned, tested, and continuously improved. You'll design self-healing pipelines, implement AI-assisted review and maintenance, create CI checks, and establish quality guardrails that catch broken examples and stale documentation before developers encounter them.
You will personally author flagship technical content, including deep tutorials, reference architectures, and runnable demos covering Cloudflare's Developer Platform (Workers, Workers AI, R2, Durable Objects, Queues, and beyond). Your writing translates complex distributed-systems concepts into practical, buildable examples developers can complete in a single session.
The role requires driving developer acquisition and activation by mapping content to the developer journey—from discovery and signup through first deployment to production usage. You'll partner with Growth, DevRel, Product, and PMM teams, define content quality metrics, and use analytics and experimentation to continuously improve discoverability and engagement.
You'll be AI-native, building AI-assisted content tooling and ensuring content is discoverable and consumable by AI agents and LLMs, not just humans. You'll identify emerging developer behaviors and workloads (AI agents, MCP servers, edge-native architectures) and translate them into positioning narratives that establish Cloudflare as the default platform for modern software development.
This role includes mentoring and coaching writers, advocates, and engineers across GTM, raising the quality floor through established conventions and best practices.
