Zip is an AI-powered enterprise procurement platform trusted by leading companies including T-Mobile, OpenAI, AMD, Mars, and Dollar Tree. The platform orchestrates procurement across teams, tools, and suppliers using AI agents, enabling enterprises to innovate faster. Zip has processed over $500 billion in spend and helped customers save over $8 billion. As Principal Business Value Consultant, you will be a recognized authority on enterprise procurement value quantification and realization. You will shape Zip's go-to-market strategy, pricing, packaging, and product priorities through your expertise and point of view. This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you own some of the company's most challenging customer and prospect engagements. Key responsibilities include: - Setting objectives and approach for Zip's most critical, highest-stakes value engagements - Owning Zip's value methodology end-to-end: models, benchmark data foundation, standards of evidence, and governance for business cases that withstand Fortune 500 scrutiny - Representing Zip externally as a thought partner and authority with customer executives, industry forums, and analysts - Influencing company direction by feeding realized-outcome data and customer economics into product prioritization, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy - Solving systemic problems that limit value delivery at scale and building execution structures for durable solutions - Developing value fluency across the go-to-market organization through coaching and raising internal standards - Shaping how the function uses AI, determining where AI-assisted modeling sharpens rigor versus introduces risk You will represent Zip with the most senior external stakeholders—CFOs, CPOs, boards, procurement councils, and analysts—and your credibility will be critical in live presentations and direct conversations. You will build capabilities and frameworks that outlast any single deal, creating lasting value for the organization. QUALIFICATIONS: - 12+ years of experience with deep domain grounding in procurement, source-to-pay, or enterprise finance transformation - Demonstrated ownership of company-level or industry-level direction in business value, value engineering, management consulting, or strategic finance; your models and frameworks enabled others to execute without your direct input - Expertise in enterprise value quantification: ability to build defensible economic models under genuine uncertainty, state assumptions and confidence explicitly, and withstand pressure-testing from CFO teams - Track record of influencing senior executives without authority—internally on strategy, pricing, or investment decisions, and externally with CFO- and CPO-level buyers whose decisions carry material commercial consequence - Ability to navigate systemic, highly ambiguous problems spanning multiple teams and functions, anticipate second-order effects, and frame problems clearly for organizational action - Sound judgment about AI-assisted analysis: fluent enough to use it for real leverage, rigorous enough to know when output cannot be defended - Evidence of multiplying others through coaching senior practitioners, raising a function's quality bar, and building assets and standards the organization continues to use Nice to haves: Experience establishing a value function or methodology from scratch at a high-growth enterprise software company; existing external presence through published work, speaking, or standing relationships in the procurement or CFO community.
