Ashby is seeking a Principal Analyst Relations Lead to build and lead analyst relations globally for the company's HR tech platform, which serves over 5,000 ambitious companies in tech, finance, and healthcare. You will report to Kat Fergerson, who leads Partnerships, and work closely with the VP of Marketing and PMM team to develop strategic analyst relations programs that increase brand awareness, buyer preference, and qualified pipeline.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and execute high-impact analyst relations programs tailored to increase brand awareness and buyer preference among key analyst firms.
• Cultivate influencer advocacy by partnering with key analysts to ensure they understand Ashby's product direction and roadmap, securing leadership positioning in research reports.
• Integrate analyst insights into product strategy, narratives, and marketing materials through collaboration with internal subject matter experts.
• Manage end-to-end analyst engagements including briefings, inquiries, and major analyst firm events.
• Lead analyst strategy at industry conferences and Ashby's flagship conference (Ashby One), developing briefing strategy and narrative cadence in partnership with PMM.
This is not a traditional analyst relations role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable becoming a product expert while building strong relationships that convert to qualified pipeline, with sharp instinct for when to engage and when an opportunity isn't the right fit. The role emphasizes first-principles thinking, critical thinking, writing, and attention to detail. You'll have autonomy and trust from leadership, and will need to be proactive, resourceful, and discerning in your approach.
The role involves significant travel to industry conferences and company-created events. You should enjoy analyzing trends in HR tech, building relationships, influencing outcomes without formal authority, and have strong writing skills. This role is not a fit if you prefer playbook-driven approaches, struggle with autonomy, or don't enjoy travel.
Interview process includes a recruiter screen, hiring manager conversation, VP Marketing interview, written take-home assignment, and virtual onsite with cross-functional team members.
Requirements:
- Experience in analyst relations, partnerships, or related field (implied by role level and expectations)
- Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail
- Product expertise and ability to become a subject matter expert
- Experience with analyst briefings, RFIs, and analyst firm engagements
- Ability to work autonomously and think from first principles
- Comfort with travel to industry events and conferences
- Background in HR tech, journalism, PR, or related field preferred
