Gradle Inc. builds Develocity, an AI-native toolchain observability and intelligence platform used by leading software organizations including Netflix, Airbnb, Spotify, and SAP. The platform helps engineering teams achieve delivery excellence through deep observability, build and test acceleration, and AI-powered intelligence across the entire toolchain, supporting Gradle Build Tool, Apache Maven, sbt, npm, Python, and Bazel.
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be on the front lines working closely with customers, prospects, and partners to help them optimize the productivity of their engineering organization by improving software build and testing processes. You will partner with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams to help customers understand and experience the value of Develocity from technical, business, and financial perspectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Account Executives through MEDDIC to identify, qualify, and develop enterprise opportunities
- Conducting customer discovery and delivering compelling software demos, solution presentations, and proof-of-concepts showcasing Develocity's value
- Bringing structured customer feedback to Product Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering to shape the roadmap
- Up to ~35% travel to customer sites and events

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum:
- 5+ years of experience in Pre-Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Consulting, or combination thereof, selling to enterprise environments
- Product Journey and Customer Journey mindset with deep desire to deploy impactful solutions
- Technical familiarity and understanding of: observability tooling (Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace), build tools (Maven, Gradle, Android, Bazel, npm, Python), CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Harness, ArgoCD), artifact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus), and software supply chain security
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize autonomously
- Strong work ethic and can-do attitude
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and/or previous experience as a software engineer or DevOps engineer
- Experience with MEDDIC or MEDDPICC
- Pre-sales experience with developer tools, observability, or other SaaS products
- Hands-on experience with Develocity
- Use of Agentic AI tools in daily workflow
