Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products to enterprise customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The company is seeking a strategic and hands-on PR Manager based in Tokyo to lead public relations and communications efforts for the Japan market. In this role, you will report directly to the Head of PR & Communications for APAC and serve as the primary PR leader for Japan. You will develop and execute in-market PR strategies to drive media coverage, manage key media relationships, and oversee the local PR agency partner. Your responsibilities include crafting compelling messaging aligned with company strategy, collaborating with marketing and business teams to enhance market perception, and generating local and regional media attention. Key responsibilities include: developing and executing PR strategies and programs; ensuring alignment with company strategic direction across external communications; managing media relationships in Japan; directing the local PR agency partner; co-managing social media presence on Japanese platforms; and amplifying events, product launches, and brand campaigns across earned and owned channels. You will work cross-functionally with global and regional communications teams, marketing, product, and commercial leaders to maintain consistent messaging and positive brand positioning. You bring 7-10+ years of PR or communications experience, with a strong track record in high-tech branding to business audiences. You are an exceptional storyteller with strong writing and editing skills, comfortable giving feedback on copy for different audiences. You demonstrate initiative, proactive engagement, and project management capabilities to drive PR initiatives from brief to completion. You are flexible, tenacious, and thrive in multicultural environments. Fluency in Japanese and business-level English is essential. You are willing to travel domestically and internationally 20%+ as needed.
