Babylist is seeking a hands-on PR and Communications Manager to build and lead a proactive communications function that shapes how consumers, media, partners, investors, and prospective leaders understand the company's mission and trajectory. This is a foundational role—you'll create an integrated PR and communications roadmap spanning leadership visibility, business growth, product innovation, partnerships, and workplace culture.
Key responsibilities include: developing a proactive consumer and corporate PR strategy that goes beyond current agency-driven efforts; building distinctive thought-leadership platforms for Babylist executives through ghostwriting, media placements, and podcast opportunities; landing high-caliber press coverage in outlets like Forbes and the New York Times; managing external PR and influencer agency partners; owning corporate communications collateral including press releases and leadership presentations; developing and executing an awards strategy to strengthen credibility; and establishing clear impact metrics across awareness, coverage quality, executive visibility, and engagement.
You'll partner cross-functionally with Product, Data, Partnerships, Social Impact, and People teams to identify stories and build a consistent communications pipeline. You'll also own internal playbooks that enable the broader company to tell Babylist's story consistently, and you'll show up in person for press moments and showroom activations.
You bring 8–10 years of PR or communications experience, ideally blending in-house and agency (or editorial) backgrounds. You're an excellent independent writer comfortable ghostwriting in others' voices, think in cohesive narratives rather than one-off announcements, and can tell both human and tech stories with equal skill. You have real relationships across digital, print, and broadcast media and know how to land placements that matter. You're comfortable prepping senior leaders for press, managing ambiguity, and working with significant autonomy. You're also an active AI user who stays curious about emerging tools and trends. You must be available on East Coast hours and able to travel to NYC on short notice.
