As People Operations Lead, you will own the entire people operations function, reporting to the Senior People Partner. Your responsibilities span the full employee lifecycle—from contracts and right-to-work verification through onboarding, probations, and offboarding. You'll be the primary point of contact for employee queries and HR audits, managing the People inbox and core HR templates.
You will manage the HRIS system (HiBob), maintaining data integrity, workflows, surveys, and delivering monthly people reporting and metrics. You own payroll input end-to-end, including collating, calculating, and submitting monthly payroll with bonuses and compensation changes, and manage the payroll provider relationship alongside Finance.
Benefits administration is a core responsibility—you'll be the main contact for all benefits providers, systems, data, and employee advice, keeping policies and materials current. A key focus is automating repetitive processes using AI-native workflows, eliminating manual effort across the people lifecycle and coaching the business to adopt these tools.
Office management duties include running the office environment, managing vendor relationships, overseeing snack orders and post, and serving as a trained First Aider and Fire Marshal. You'll own the company social calendar and rituals, including bi-weekly all-hands meetings, quarterly town halls, and larger events.
You'll need hands-on People or HR Operations experience in a fast-moving scale-up with real end-to-end process ownership. CIPD or equivalent is required. Proficiency with payroll input, benefits administration, and HRIS systems (HiBob experience is a plus) is essential. You should have demonstrated experience building with AI—actual workflows or tools you've shipped, not just theoretical knowledge. Strong organizational skills, UK employment law knowledge, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment are critical. You'll need low ego, high standards, and the discretion to handle confidential matters.
