Monzo is a fintech company on a mission to make money work for everyone, offering personal and business bank accounts, savings, investments, pensions, and credit products in the UK. The People Governance & Accountability team sits at the intersection of People, Legal, Compliance, and Risk, owning the design and operation of accountability and people governance frameworks globally. You'll join as a Senior Manager in an individual contributor role with meaningful scope, reporting to the People Governance & Accountability Lead and working closely with two other team members. This role blends people expertise, governance knowledge, regulatory acumen, and operational ownership. Key responsibilities include: - Managing day-to-day operational delivery of people governance and accountability frameworks, turning complex regulatory requirements into practical, scalable processes - Owning accountability regimes (SMCR and IAF/SEAR), ensuring processes, controls, timelines, and outputs are delivered to high standard - Running business-as-usual activities: fit and proper assessments, certification, accountability processes, governance documentation, and regulatory reporting - Coordinating day-to-day team work and ensuring priorities and delivery stay on track - Acting as a trusted subject matter expert on accountability and people governance, supporting stakeholders across Monzo to navigate complexity and make risk-based decisions - Building and evolving the broader people governance framework, including management of people-related risk, controls, decision-making, and organizational change - Identifying and implementing improvements to governance processes and frameworks You'll have influence and impact across the People Collective and Monzo as a whole. The quality of your judgment, attention to detail, delivery, and partnership will directly affect how effectively Monzo manages accountability, risk, and regulatory scrutiny as it grows. This role requires someone who can operate confidently across people-related regulation, accountability regimes, and broader governance requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
