Vinyl Equity is building next-generation capital-markets infrastructure with a modern, digital-native transfer agent for public companies. Backed by Index Ventures, Spark Capital, and Infinity Ventures, the team includes veterans from NYSE, Equiniti, Computershare, and AngelList. This Director-level role owns the complete people function strategically across hiring, onboarding, compliance, compensation, and employer positioning. You will serve as HR Director, full-cycle recruiter, compliance officer, office manager, and administrative backbone simultaneously. Key responsibilities include: HR Advisory: Draft and maintain employment contracts, offer letters, NDAs, and Employee Handbook. Design compensation structures and benefits programs with benchmarking. Ensure compliance with central and state employment laws. Manage complete onboarding from offer acceptance through Day 90. Handle employee grievances, performance conversations, and terminations. HR Audit & Compliance: Conduct periodic compliance health checks on payroll accuracy and policy adherence. Ensure full compliance with applicable labour laws and timely statutory remittances. Maintain mandatory registers and records under relevant labour legislation. POSH Compliance: Draft, implement, and review the company POSH Policy. Onboard and manage the External Member of the Internal Committee. Conduct mandatory annual POSH training. Talent Acquisition: Own end-to-end recruiting including job descriptions, sourcing, offer management, and closing. Drive structured interview processes with scheduling and feedback collection. Lead compensation benchmarking and offer negotiation. Build talent pipeline and track hiring metrics. Own employer branding across all touchpoints. Office Management: Manage day-to-day operations including facilities, vendors, and supplies. Plan team events, offsites, and culture-building initiatives. Handle travel and accommodation logistics. Required: 6–10 years progressive HR experience with minimum 3 years operating independently across multiple HR domains. Hands-on knowledge of Indian labour law including PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Shops & Establishment, and POSH Act. Direct experience managing end-to-end statutory payroll compliance. Demonstrated track record of full-cycle recruiting. Experience drafting employment contracts and HR policies from scratch. Prior startup or high-growth company experience. Strong written communication and discretion on sensitive matters.
