LemFi is a Series B fintech company building financial services for the Global South, with 400+ employees across 20+ countries processing over $1B in monthly transactions. As People Advisor for Nigeria, you'll be the primary people operations contact for the Lagos hub of 250+ team members, reporting to the People Lead, Africa.
You'll own employee relations cases end-to-end, including performance management, conduct issues, and grievances, resolving them with empathy, fairness, and legal precision. You'll serve as a trusted advisor and coach to senior Nigerian leaders on team dynamics, performance decisions, and people challenges, building credibility at the leadership level.
Key responsibilities include supporting local statutory compliance (PAYE, HMO, Pension, NHF) and ensuring managers adhere to the Nigerian Labour Act. You'll design and deliver coaching and training sessions for people managers on LemFi's management standards, and support the rollout of global people initiatives with local adaptation. You'll gather and analyze people data on retention, engagement, and hub health to inform regional strategy.
Additionally, you'll partner with Talent Acquisition on local hiring, manage the current Lagos office, and potentially lead a workstream for a new office space that fosters collaboration and strong culture. You'll champion adoption of AI-driven people tools to automate routine tasks, freeing capacity for high-value coaching and strategic work.
You bring 3–5 years of HR generalist experience with meaningful employee relations exposure in Nigeria. You're confident running ER cases independently, comfortable advising senior stakeholders, and deeply familiar with Nigerian employment law and professional culture. You're pragmatic, comfortable with ambiguity in a scaling business, and proficient with modern HRIS platforms (Rippling experience is a plus). Experience in global or distributed businesses is valued.
