Credit Genie is a mobile-first financial wellness platform leveraging AI to provide personalized financial insights and tools for instant cash access and credit building. Founded in 2019 by Ed Harycki (former Swift Capital founder, acquired by PayPal), the company is backed by Khosla Ventures and led by industry veterans from PayPal, Square, and Cash App.
You will be Credit Genie's first dedicated organic marketing hire, building the organic acquisition engine from the ground up. This is a strategic and hands-on role spanning SEO, AEO (answer engine optimization), and content marketing. You'll own organic growth end-to-end: from keyword and topic research through technical SEO, content creation, publishing, and performance measurement.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Credit Genie's organic growth strategy, including SEO/AEO roadmap, topic and keyword strategy, and editorial calendar
- Write and produce high-quality, search and answer-engine-optimized content across blogs, website pages, in-app copy, and guides
- Drive technical and on-page SEO improvements in partnership with engineering, focusing on site architecture, structured data, schema markup, crawlability, and Core Web Vitals
- Manage the SEO/AEO ecosystem using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, and SEMrush to track rankings, traffic, and answer-engine citations
- Translate product briefs and insights into compelling, on-brand copy that supports organic growth and business objectives
- Maintain and evolve brand voice across all touchpoints for consistency and trust
- Leverage AI tools for ideation, drafting, and optimization while ensuring quality, compliance, and SEO/AEO standards
- Analyze performance data and optimize content to improve engagement, acquisition, and conversion
You'll collaborate closely with design, growth marketing, product marketing, research, data, engineering, social media, compliance, and product teams. This role requires equal parts strategic thinking and hands-on execution—you must be comfortable researching, writing, publishing, and optimizing content yourself while also building roadmaps and influencing outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
The company expects in-office presence five days per week to foster collaboration and culture, with flexibility for personal circumstances.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience managing content marketing in a B2C environment
- Proven track record of writing and editing across multiple formats
- Fluency in SEO content best practices and hands-on experience with SEO/analytics tools (Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush/Moz, Screaming Frog)
- Demonstrated track record of measurable organic growth (specific traffic, ranking, or share-of-voice gains)
- Familiarity with emerging AEO/GEO practices, including structured data and optimization for AI-generated answers
- Comfort using AI tools for ideation, drafting, and optimization
- Exceptional attention to detail and brand voice; experienced in refining AI-generated content to maintain clarity, compliance, style consistency, and brand integrity
- Strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution; ability to write, analyze, and execute as effectively as you can plan
- Comfort working in fast-paced, dynamic environments where you can help create structure and influence outcomes
- Experience in fintech, financial wellness, or adjacent industries is a plus
