Flexport is a global logistics platform that moves over $19B in merchandise annually across 112 countries for 13,000+ clients. The company is expanding into Brazil and opening its first office in São Paulo. As an Operations Associate, you'll be one of the first local hires, responsible for building Flexport's operations in Brazil from the ground up.
You will own end-to-end operations across ocean, air, and trucking for both import and export shipments into and out of Brazil. Your responsibilities include ensuring service levels, compliance, and efficiency across all transportation modes. You'll oversee partner performance on day-to-day shipments and build the operational performance framework, processes, and tools to improve how Flexport operates in Brazil, driving quality and consistency.
A key focus is mapping import and export processes in preparation for near-term operational insourcing. You'll act as a trusted advisor to the Flexport team worldwide, identifying operational gaps and building solutions that standardize how operations run. You'll solve client issues quickly, keep operations running smoothly at origin and destination, and escalate issues to internal teams as needed.
You'll partner with local, regional, and global teams—including Sales, Account Management, Trade Lane managers, and Operations—to design logistics solutions for clients and win new business. This role emphasizes bringing automation and AI-driven tooling into Brazilian logistics operations, not just managing the status quo. Flexport is investing heavily in automating manual ops workflows across LATAM, and you'll translate that into real operational leverage for the São Paulo team, reducing manual work and speeding up execution.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual in English and Portuguese (required); Spanish a plus
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or ocean carrier operations
- Strong analytical skills with experience building and refining dashboards to track performance
- Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
