Twilio is seeking a New Business Account Executive to drive customer acquisition strategy in Japan. This role is central to Twilio's growth in the region, focusing on winning new enterprise and mid-market customers across diverse industries including retail, financial services, manufacturing, transportation, public sector, and technology startups.
You will develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan targeting high-value accounts, collaborating closely with demand generation marketing, digital sales, partner managers, and system engineers. Your customers will include application owners, product managers, line-of-business executives, and C-suite leaders. You'll manage the full sales cycle using Salesforce, maintain disciplined pipeline management, and forecast business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include: developing winning strategies for target accounts and adjusting priorities to maximize new customer acquisition; aligning with internal stakeholders on shared goals and securing their support; managing sales forecasts, funnel health, and systematic follow-up; and serving as a vocal advocate for Twilio's mission, vision, and value proposition to customers and external partners.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of high-touch B2B sales experience; comfort engaging with both business and highly technical leaders; demonstrated track record of business growth and strategy execution; challenger mindset focused on new business acquisition; proven ability to deliver results with scale and enterprise customers; business-level English proficiency (spoken and written).
Desired experience includes: telecom industry background (SMS aggregators, carriers, global communications platforms); SaaS, CPaaS, or CCaaS sales; cloud technology sales (IaaS/PaaS, security); or experience with system integrators and value-added resellers. Approximately 25% travel is expected for customer meetings and team gatherings. This is a remote-first role based in Japan with occasional in-person requirements for team off-sites and customer engagement.
