Function Health is an AI-powered health platform enabling comprehensive health monitoring through lab testing, MRI/CT imaging, and clinical guidance. The company has raised $298M in Series B funding and serves over 500,000 members.
As an MRI Specialist, you will serve as a central force in elevating imaging quality across Function Health's network of partnered imaging facilities. This hybrid role combines remote clinical oversight with on-site engagement, including travel to onboard new facilities and ensure sustained imaging excellence. You will operate at the intersection of clinical expertise, systems optimization, and education—this is not a traditional technologist console role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboard new imaging sites, including protocol implementation and hands-on technologist training
- Review and refine MRI protocols across multiple vendors (Siemens, GE, Philips, Canon, etc.); optimize scan parameters for superior image quality while maintaining efficiency
- Evaluate implant and device cases to ensure MRI safety; promote and uphold MRI safety best practices across all sites
- Conduct routine image quality audits and protocol reviews; track and improve key performance metrics including repeat rates, scan quality, and protocol adherence
- Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and internal knowledge resources; build structured training programs for technologists across partner sites
- Leverage DICOM and imaging workflow knowledge to troubleshoot and streamline data transfer issues; partner with internal teams to improve interoperability and system reliability
- Work closely with operations, technical, and medical teams to continuously improve imaging workflows and outcomes
This role is designed for MRI technologists who want to move beyond the console into system-level impact, helping define how MRI is performed, taught, and scaled across a growing network. You will influence both clinical quality and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
- Strong expertise in MRI protocols and image optimization
- Excellent communication and training skills, with ability to collaborate across teams
- Proven ability to adapt across diverse clinical environments and systems
- Detail-oriented with strong commitment to clinical excellence and MRI safety
- Recent Philips MRI experience required
Preferred:
- Experience working with at least two MRI vendors (Siemens, GE, Philips, United, etc.)
- MR Safety Officer (MRSO) certification
- CT experience
- Comfortable with hybrid schedule of working from home with approximately 30–40% travel
