Perplexity AI is seeking a Senior Motion Designer to lead motion graphics and video production for the company's social channels and go-to-market initiatives. This is a video-production-focused role where you'll own the full lifecycle of motion content—from concepting and storyboarding through animation and final delivery—with an emphasis on fast turnaround, high volume, and consistent brand quality.
You'll report to the Brand/Creative Studio team and collaborate closely with Brand, Growth, Communications, and a dedicated Producer to maintain a steady pipeline of polished, on-brand motion work. Your primary responsibility is creating expressive, performance-driven social and campaign content that tells Perplexity's story across platforms.
In a secondary capacity, you'll help establish motion design principles, systems, and templates to scale motion work across the team as the practice matures. You'll also explore creative technologist opportunities—experimenting with new tools, techniques, and AI-assisted workflows to push the boundaries of what's possible.
Required qualifications include senior-level expertise in motion graphics and animation with video production as your core discipline. You'll need a strong portfolio demonstrating expressive motion work, particularly in social, campaign, and GTM contexts. Deep command of animation fundamentals (timing, spacing, composition, visual rhythm) and expert proficiency in After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite are essential. You should be comfortable working at speed, managing multiple concurrent deliverables, and iterating rapidly in a high-output environment.
Nice-to-have skills include experience developing scalable motion systems or toolkits, comfort working across both 2D and 3D with compositing and post-production expertise, creative technologist instincts for building or experimenting with AI-assisted workflows, and graphic design fluency sufficient to build and adapt assets independently.
