Swarmer develops autonomous drone software that enables coordinated teams of unmanned systems to operate without pilots. The company became Ukraine's first defense startup to go public on NASDAQ in March 2026 following a $15M Series A. You will own and evolve the user experience of Swarmer's command-and-control products—interfaces that help operators plan, simulate, monitor, and execute complex multi-drone missions. This is a hands-on design leadership role where you are the design authority and primary designer, establishing the design function from the ground up. You will set design direction, build the design system, define working practices, and personally design critical product interfaces. Key responsibilities include: owning the end-to-end product experience across mission planning, simulation, execution, real-time monitoring, and post-mission review; translating complex operational requirements into clear information architecture and interaction models; creating sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and working prototypes using Figma and AI-assisted coding tools; applying usability principles to high-stakes workflows where operator fatigue and degraded conditions are real constraints; conducting user research with operators and field teams; defining and maintaining scalable design patterns and component libraries; leveraging generative AI to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, and implementation; identifying opportunities where AI can improve the product or customer experience; collaborating closely with product, engineering, autonomy, and field teams; and balancing immediate customer needs against long-term platform consistency. The interface is a command surface, not a dashboard. Decisions are made in seconds by operators working in degraded conditions with limited training. Information architecture failures are mission failures, not usability defects. You will work at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality, seeing direct impact of your work on democratic defense capabilities.
