Relativity Space is building next-generation commercial rockets, starting with the Terran R vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. You'll join Dark Matter Lab, a 10-person founding innovation team within Relativity focused on rapid experimentation, deep-tech prototyping, and moonshot thinking in aerospace and beyond.
As a Moonshot Engineer, you'll operate with high autonomy in a multidisciplinary team exploring the edges of what's possible. Your responsibilities span technical leadership, detailed design and analysis, prototype build and testing, vendor management, and PO coordination—whatever it takes to turn bold ideas into reality. You'll identify, explore, analyze, prototype, and realize world-changing concepts in space systems and related domains.
This is a founding-team role where there are no handed-down roadmaps, only frontiers to navigate. You'll work at the intersection of hardware development, full-stack systems prototyping, and breakthrough innovation. The team values speed, embraces ambiguity, and learns through building. Your work could advance space systems, autonomous factories, or entirely new industries.
Relativity emphasizes autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level. You'll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. The company is far enough along that Terran R is tangible and gaining momentum, yet early enough that you can leave your mark on the product, process, and culture. This is hands-on, high-impact work for someone driven by curiosity and motivated by solving problems that haven't been solved before.
