Unlimited Industries is automating construction end-to-end to solve the infrastructure and productivity crisis facing the Western world. The company is building an AI-powered automated design engine that handles every step of the engineering process for large-scale capital projects like utility-scale power plants and data centers. As a Modeling and Analysis Engineer, you will develop and refine the core simulation and optimization capabilities powering this platform. You'll build rigid-body dynamics simulators, finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solvers, and trade-study tools that enable the system to explore complex design spaces and produce optimized end deliverables. The role requires systems-level thinking and the ability to maintain software tools across multiple engineering disciplines. You should have deep expertise in physics-based modeling, performance simulation, or optimization engine development, combined with a broad understanding of how different engineering domains interact. The company values first-principles thinking and evidence of challenging conventional wisdom to achieve step-function improvements. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on execution and impact. You'll identify bottlenecks in the design automation pipeline and solve the most critical problems. The team is roughly 50% former founders with a culture emphasizing technical excellence, extreme ownership, and ruthless prioritization. The company is in-person in San Francisco, 5 days per week. The posting explicitly states they are hiring across all experience levels, from new graduates through senior engineers, though the role description emphasizes technical depth and systems thinking rather than people management.
