As a Mission Software Engineer (Senior), you will own software solutions deployed to customers, writing code to improve products and scale mission capability across the customer base. You'll collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, and robotics. Key responsibilities include creating and analyzing metrics for debugging and monitoring, triaging issues and coordinating root cause analysis, and partnering with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints.
You'll work with a variety of programming languages (Go, Rust, Python) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular), building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis. The role requires the ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI clearance and willing to travel up to 25% of the time for real-world build, test, and deployment activities.
Required qualifications include a strong engineering background (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics), professional experience with multiple programming languages and frontend frameworks, and demonstrated ability working on safety-critical or mission-critical software. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of professional industry experience, background in safety-critical software/hardware development, and knowledge of distributed communication networks and message standards.
