Adapt API is a venture-backed startup building an agentic operations layer for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. The company is modernizing insurance agencies by automating manual, error-prone workflows that currently involve extensive copy-pasting between disconnected systems, filing cabinets, and fax machines. As a Mid-Market Account Executive, you will own the full sales cycle for sophisticated P&C agencies—from prospecting through close—on a 45-day cycle with monthly closed-won targets. You'll work directly with the Head of Sales and CEO, carrying a book of 20+ opportunities and managing buying committees that typically include VPs of Operations, CIOs, and CEOs. Key responsibilities include: self-sourcing roughly half your pipeline using HubSpot, Nooks, SalesNav, referrals, and conference lists; running consultative discovery to understand agency operations (AMS setup, document handling, carrier mix, process costs); conducting pilots with clear success criteria and weekly check-ins; multi-threading deals across operations, IT, and finance stakeholders; and closing deals while ensuring clean handoffs to Customer Success. You'll need 4+ years of full-cycle AE experience in SMB or mid-market SaaS with documented quota attainment. Self-sourcing must be a system you can describe, not a reactive burst. You should be consultative in discovery, ROI-driven, organized in your CRM, and resilient through good and bad months. The role requires carrying volume without sacrificing rigor—managing 20+ live opportunities while keeping discovery consultative and your CRM clean. Bonus experience includes selling to insurance agencies or familiarity with AMS platforms (Applied Epic, AMS360, ImageRight); selling API, integration, or infrastructure products; pilot-led or POC-led selling; startup experience; or military/high-level athletics background. Compensation includes a strong base, aggressive commission with accelerators past quota, and uncapped earning potential tied to deal volume and activity discipline.
