As a Member of Technical Staff (Software Engineer), you'll be a core backend builder responsible for platform systems that directly power the Fireworks product. Your scope includes the main web application, model and fine-tuning job orchestration, billing and enterprise features, accounts and org management, access controls, policy enforcement, governance, APIs, and developer tooling.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable backend services that handle production AI workloads
- Own major product surfaces end-to-end, from architecture through production deployment
- Improve system reliability, performance, and developer experience
- Work directly with customers to understand pain points and validate solutions
- Ship enterprise-grade features without enterprise slowness or bureaucracy
- Leverage AI tooling aggressively to automate and accelerate your own work
- Collaborate across product, frontend, infrastructure, and go-to-market teams to deliver end-to-end features
You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy building real products with measurable business impact, think in systems and tradeoffs, care deeply about developer experience and clean abstractions, and want genuine ownership rather than task lists. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience solving real problems, 2+ years working with AI systems (agents, bots, chats, or building on models), and is comfortable collaborating with both human teammates and AI systems.
