8090 Solutions, co-founded by Chamath Palihapitiya, is building a Software Factory that delivers fully-managed, hosted software purpose-built for enterprise customers. The company is scaling its sales team to capture two major market opportunities: replacing legacy software and building custom software for enterprise and public sector clients.
As a Member of GTM Staff focused on the public sector, you will own end-to-end complex enterprise deal cycles with high autonomy and substantial revenue generation responsibilities. This role requires a founder-like mindset and is designed for someone who can operate independently without needing a playbook.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complete deal cycles from prospecting through discovery, business case creation, product requirements documentation, scoping, negotiations, and contract execution
- Building relationships across federal and state agencies, creating high-quality business cases that articulate clear ROI and modernization opportunities
- Running technical discovery with cross-functional teams (TPMs, Forward Deployed Engineers, customer teams) to assess workflows, cost structures, data maturity, and AI readiness
- Supporting PRD development and legacy system assessments to scope and size deals
- Executing complex, seven-figure TCV deals in accelerated timelines
- Multi-threaded executive engagement across agency leadership, functional areas, CORs, contracting partners, IT, transformation, and finance teams
- Developing tools and agents that enhance sales effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Evangelizing 8090 through government workshops, events, and analyst engagement
Required qualifications include 5-10 years of public sector sales experience selling large-scale SaaS, data, or AI transformation programs. You must have a track record of closing seven-figure TCV deals with complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes. Strong deal-craft instincts around pricing, negotiation, and creative deal structures are essential. Working fluency in AI/LLM concepts and software development lifecycle is required. You should be a full-stack sales person with high agency, persistence, and comfort with ambiguity. References from senior executives who can attest to your ability to build trusted relationships above your title level are expected.
Successful performance in this role can lead to advancement into a Senior Member of GTM Staff position and potential leadership of the public sector business segment.
