EVERSANA is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Senior Medical Science Liaison specializing in ophthalmology, based in Atlanta, GA. This field-based scientific expert role focuses on neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD/wet AMD) and involves building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and clinical institutions across the Southeast region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary medical and scientific point of contact in the assigned geographic area
- Maintain deep clinical expertise in ophthalmology standards of care, particularly wet AMD treatment
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific exchanges with healthcare providers, retinal specialists, and optometry clinics
- Develop and execute strategic KOL engagement plans to identify and cultivate long-term collaborative relationships
- Profile key accounts and institutions to understand patient care pathways and treatment protocols
- Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare providers, health systems, medical groups, and advocacy organizations
- Support health systems and population health leaders with clinical and scientific guidance
- Attend and report on local, regional, and national educational events, symposia, and CME activities
- Manage time and travel budgets for scientific exchange and clinical education activities
- Provide market insights and clinical intelligence to internal teams
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership, clients, and thought leaders on clinical research initiatives
- Support clinical trial sites and investigator-initiated trial (IIT) proposals as needed
- Represent the client at medical meetings and scientific booth coverage
- Respond to and document unsolicited requests for clinical information
- Work compliantly with commercial colleagues to ensure product strategy alignment
Required qualifications include strong clinical and scientific expertise in ophthalmology, excellent written and oral communication skills, public speaking ability, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work independently while managing time and resources effectively. The role demands high attention to detail, accountability, integrity, and commitment to company quality management systems and compliance standards.
