Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare disease treatment, is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for the New England territory. This is a field-based Medical Affairs role covering Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and upstate New York (excluding NYC).
The MSL will serve as a scientific expert and liaison between Mirum's rare disease liver portfolio and healthcare professionals (HCPs), thought leaders, and clinical investigators in the assigned region. Key responsibilities include:
• Identifying, accessing, and developing professional relationships with thought leaders, HCPs, active/potential study investigators, and professional organizations within the territory
• Supporting research initiatives and clinical site investigators across development phases
• Facilitating investigator-initiated research proposals between interested HCPs and the company
• Engaging in scientific exchange responding to HCP requests and effectively communicating clinical information
• Delivering impactful presentations to advisory boards, patient advocacy groups, and payors
• Providing accurate community needs assessments to senior management
• Supporting company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research within PhRMA guidelines
• Planning and executing advisory boards and medical congresses
• Staying current with emerging scientific literature and clinical data
• Ensuring full compliance with company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and PhRMA guidelines
Required qualifications include an advanced science or clinical degree (MD, DO, Pharm.D., PhD, NP, or PA) and 5+ years of field MSL experience. Preferred qualifications include rare disease experience and background in hepatology or gastroenterology. The role requires frequent travel (up to 60% overnight) within the territory, valid driver's license, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office applications. Launch experience is preferred.
