Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of integrated support systems for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The Maritime Division is expanding its product portfolio across undersea and surface domains, including platforms like Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry. In this role, you will design and develop robust support systems for deployment, launch, recovery, maintenance, and field operations of autonomous vehicles in demanding maritime environments. You'll work cross-functionally with vehicle design engineers, field operations teams, manufacturing, and customer representatives to ensure mission-critical systems perform reliably. Key responsibilities include: - Designing mechanical solutions for launch/recovery mechanisms, handling equipment, transportation, storage, and test systems - Selecting, qualifying, and managing vendors for commercial off-the-shelf components and outsourced manufacturing - Leading technical efforts to define requirements, propose solutions, and establish verification methodologies - Collaborating with electrical and software teams to ensure integrated system reliability and cost-effectiveness - Conducting design reviews, structural analysis, vendor visits, and hardware testing - Contributing to team processes, tools, templates, and standards You'll need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 4+ years of hands-on mechanical design and testing experience (maritime, aerospace, or defense preferred), proficiency in CAD (Siemens NX preferred), and demonstrated fabrication skills. U.S. Secret clearance eligibility is required. Preferred qualifications include robotic/autonomous systems experience, defense/maritime domain knowledge, finite element analysis expertise, and product lifecycle experience from manufacturing through sustainment.
