Magenta Medical is a Class III medical device company developing advanced heart pump technology. The company is scaling manufacturing and operations, and seeks an experienced Mechanical, Biomedical, or Materials Engineer to lead the transition of a complex product from R&D to full-scale production.
In this role, you will own multiple critical manufacturing processes and drive New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives. Key responsibilities include leading the transfer of designs from R&D to production, optimizing manufacturing processes through design and development of production equipment and fixtures, and writing comprehensive manufacturing documentation. You will provide hands-on production floor support, troubleshooting issues and conducting root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
You will collaborate closely with external suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The role requires leading equipment and process qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ) to validate manufacturing systems, implementing engineering changes (ECOs) to enhance design and manufacturing outcomes, and writing test protocols and reports to document validation activities.
This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical scope and influence over manufacturing strategy. You will work at the intersection of product design and manufacturing scale-up, requiring deep expertise in mechanical engineering, design for manufacturability, and medical device regulatory requirements.
