Salary: USD 140,000 - 195,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies is seeking a Material Program Manager (Level 5) to lead material schedule and budget execution for defense and space programs, with primary focus on propulsion subcontractor management. This is a strategic and tactical role requiring both high-level planning and hands-on problem-solving with minimal supervision.
You will own all phases of subcontract program execution, including development of supplier program management documentation (monthly status reports, SRR/PDR/CDR materials, planning documentation, and CDRLs), and presentation of program materials to technical teams, leadership, and customers. The role demands the ability to balance immediate tactical wins with long-term program success while working across multiple disciplines and stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate, manage, and own Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Integrated Master Plans (IMP), and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Manage project-level P&L, EACs, material sales forecasting, accruals, and cost account management (CAM)
- Lead program execution with key subcontractors through all phases including SRR/PDR/CDR milestones and program management CDRLs
- Serve as primary customer contact for material and subcontract program information
- Present and represent Voyager's Global Supply Chain in Program Management Reviews, leadership briefings, and customer briefings
- Creatively solve complex supply chain problems using data-driven strategies
- Identify risks and opportunities to the program
- Proactively manage supply and demand to identify and eliminate gaps
- Escalate critical material shortages immediately and own resolution efforts
- Balance short-term problem resolution with long-term program success
- Work effectively in fast-paced development environments
- Implement solutions to overcome current and future material shortages
- Coordinate and optimize delivery schedules with critical suppliers
- Support follow-on and new business opportunities, including proposal input
- Challenge business impediments and drive continuous improvement
- Lead others through dynamic and fluid environments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business AND minimum 20 years of program management and/or supply chain management experience, including 5 years managing DoD propulsion-related programs
- Must be able to obtain and maintain US Government Secret clearance; US citizenship required
- Direct experience managing large subcontracts
- Material Program Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience on prime defense programs
- Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong program and budget management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel up to 10% within the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Management of rocket propulsion defense system programs, including propulsion control systems
- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Understanding of Government Procurement processes and regulations
- Lean and Six Sigma Training and/or Certification
- Experience leading and supporting prime proposal efforts and business development with funding customer offices
- Expert Excel ability including pivot tables, macros, and VBA
