Breakaway is the nation's leading independent live music and entertainment platform, operating across live music, artist services, event management, and digital media. The company operates tentpole touring music festivals across multiple cities and has expanded into pop-up events and artist management through its Breakaway Projects division. The Marketing Manager will support the development and execution of marketing campaigns and activations for Breakaway Music Festival and the broader Breakaway brand. Working cross-functionally with digital, creative, social, and promotional teams, this role combines campaign strategy, project management, budget oversight, performance reporting, copywriting, and agency coordination. Key responsibilities include: - Lead end-to-end marketing plan development and execution for festivals and the Breakaway brand, collaborating closely with internal teams - Oversee significant budgets across multiple concurrent campaigns, making strategic adjustments to optimize spending - Analyze campaign KPIs, present insights during weekly marketing calls, and develop action plans based on performance - Maintain marketing calendars and communicate short- and long-term plans across internal teams - Coordinate local-market initiatives including digital, out-of-home campaigns, pre-festival events, and promotional partnerships - Manage festival media libraries and support media/content-capture strategies - Project-manage creative deliverables, including task assignment and deadline management - Write copy for email, SMS, digital advertisements, billboards, and other campaign materials - Oversee fan communications and personalized offers through the Breakaway Festivals app - Serve as primary liaison between internal marketing team and agency partners (social, paid media, CRM, app) - Collect, analyze, and report on campaign and event performance with actionable insights - Develop strategic post-festival regional and national fan surveys and translate findings into recommendations - Negotiate rates and creative partnerships with vendors, radio stations, media outlets, street teams, and content creators - Stay current on emerging social platforms, cultural trends, and marketing techniques in live entertainment - Support Marketing Director(s) with administrative and operational responsibilities - Support onsite festival operations and marketing activations as needed Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required; marketing, English, communications, or related field preferred - 2–4 years of professional marketing experience, preferably in music, entertainment, media, or live events - 2–4 years managing paid media campaigns - 2–4 years of professional copywriting experience across organic and paid channels - Expertise in paid digital media platforms (Meta Business Manager, TikTok Business Center) with strong understanding of KPIs, budget management, and full campaign lifecycles - Familiarity with CRM platforms and their applications in live-event marketing (audience segmentation, targeting, presale registration, email/SMS campaigns, retention programs) - Exceptional project management, organizational, and time-management skills with strong attention to detail - Ability to balance creative and analytical thinking with sound strategic instincts - Strong understanding of the music industry and Breakaway audience preferred - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in fast-paced team environment - Excellent written, verbal, copywriting, and copy-editing skills - Ability to manage competing priorities, meet overlapping deadlines, and execute quick-turn deliverables - Adaptable and comfortable in dynamic, rapidly evolving environment - Dependable, proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva preferred - Experience editing vertical, 9:16, TikTok-style video content is a plus - Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays during festival season - Genuine passion for music, festivals, entertainment, and culture-driven marketing
