Mill is a waste prevention technology company building smart systems and infrastructure for homes, businesses, and municipalities that transform food scraps into valuable resources. The company has established strong momentum in its consumer business (residential food recyclers) and is now scaling toward commercial offerings (grocery, restaurants, food services).
You will own Mill's customer acquisition engine end-to-end—the paid channels, performance metrics, and testing infrastructure that drive efficient, scalable growth across both consumer and commercial business lines. This is a strategic and deeply operational role reporting to the GM of Consumer, working closely with Growth, Analytics, Creative, Sales, and Business Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage strategy, budget, and day-to-day execution across paid social, paid search, programmatic/display, affiliate, and marketplace channels
- Own media mix and budget allocation; set bidding and pacing strategy; continuously reallocate spend toward highest-efficiency opportunities
- Build rigorous attribution, CAC/LTV modeling, and incrementality testing; run a disciplined test-and-learn program across audiences, offers, and channels
- Brief Creative and agency partners on in-market performance; run rapid creative-testing cadence
- Partner with Product and Growth on landing pages, checkout flow, and onboarding to improve conversion rate and payback period
- Build commercial acquisition motion with Sales and Business Operations for paid lead-generation and co-marketing programs
- Own CAC, ROAS, and payback targets; manage budget and pacing; report performance with clarity to leadership
- Partner with Analytics and Data Science to translate insights into targeting, channel, and creative decisions
- Build Mill's growth playbook for portability across channels, markets, and business lines
Success in 12–18 months means running an efficient, diversified paid acquisition engine hitting CAC and payback targets; establishing a rigorous test-and-learn culture with clear experimentation roadmap and reliable incrementality read; diversifying channel mix to reduce platform dependency; building a repeatable commercial lead-generation engine; documenting a portable growth playbook; and becoming a trusted thought partner to the GM and cross-functional leaders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8 to 12+ years of marketing experience with deep, hands-on expertise in growth or performance marketing across paid social, paid search, and programmatic channels
- Track record of building efficient, scalable acquisition engines for new products or categories, with demonstrated command of CAC, LTV, and payback economics
- Experience owning a paid media budget and performance targets, with operational rigor to manage pacing, bidding, and ROI in real time
- Fluency with attribution, analytics, and experimentation—comfortable designing and reading incrementality tests, not just dashboards
- Fluency partnering with Creative, Analytics, Data Science, and external agency and media partners to ship and iterate on high-performing campaigns
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, moving from strategy to execution without waiting for perfect information
- Strong resonance with Mill's mission and values; belief that growth and impact are mutually reinforcing
- Fluency in common collaboration, analytics, and project management tools (Google Suite, Excel, Notion/Coda, and paid media/analytics platforms)
