Overview.ai is a full-stack AI computer vision company deploying GPU-powered cameras and edge inference systems on manufacturing production lines worldwide. The company solves inspection problems previously unsolvable with traditional machine vision, with customers valuing high accuracy, fast deployment, and operator-friendly experiences that enable real factory rollouts at scale.
You will lead Overview's marketing function as a VP-level builder-leader, owning the marketing P&L and building two teams while inheriting existing headcount. This is a 0→1 and 1→100 role with an 18-month pathway to higher positions for strong performers. You'll report to the COO and work directly with founders at the leadership table.
Key responsibilities include:
- Channel Creation: Develop marketing programs around key channels (machine builders, events, partnerships) using ads, newsletters, and industry engagement
- Product Marketing Leadership: Lead the product marketing team; own messaging, launches, competitive positioning, and technical sales enablement
- Events & Partnerships Leadership: Lead the events and partnerships team; own tradeshows, industry presence, and co-marketing relationships
- Industry Presence: Build Overview's voice and credibility in the manufacturing and automation community; represent the brand at industry gatherings
- Marketing P&L Ownership: Own budget and outcomes across your scope
- Technical Fluency: Learn the camera and platform deeply enough to guide credible, technically accurate marketing
- Executive Leadership: Represent marketing at the leadership table; translate product capability into market strategy
- Brand & Narrative: Own positioning, category story, and external presence end-to-end
This role is exciting because you'll shape how the market defines AI computer vision for manufacturing at a critical moment, tell a true story about a product already deployed at scale in real factories, and build industry presence and credibility across the automation world.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in senior marketing leadership (VP, Head of Marketing, or CMO) with hands-on involvement and P&L ownership
- Track record leading and building marketing teams, including product marketing
- Manufacturing or industrial market experience; understanding of how factories buy and what moves industrial buyers
- Technical aptitude to learn hardware-plus-AI products deeply and market them credibly
- Startup or scale-up experience, ideally having grown a company from Series B/C upward
STRONG PREFERENCES:
- Industry-native credibility in manufacturing, automation, or industrial technology (known and trusted in the space)
- Machine vision, computer vision, or industrial automation background with genuine technical fluency
- Strong public voice with track record of category storytelling, evangelism, speaking, or audience-building in technical markets
- Experience owning events, partnerships, or community-building as a growth motion
- Track record building a category or leading positioning for technical products in emerging markets
