Fictiv is a digital manufacturing platform that connects engineers and procurement teams with a global network of manufacturing partners. As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Bengaluru office, you will support and drive improvements to critical manufacturing functions, working at the interface between customers (builders) and manufacturing partners.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Release Package Review: Analyze CAD models, drawings, parts lists, and technical data to determine scope of work, manufacturing feasibility, requirements, and lead times for various processes including CNC machining, 3D printing, and other manufacturing techniques.
- Quoting & Proposals: Combine technical analysis with Fictiv's software tools to generate competitive quotes for customers, or collaborate with external suppliers to determine quoting parameters. Your goal is to help bring products to market faster across diverse industries.
- Cost Calculator Development: Leverage your fabrication expertise and understanding of process cost drivers to develop cost calculators that enable Fictiv to bring quoting in-house for new service offerings.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFx) Feedback: Provide recommendations to customers on design alterations that improve manufacturability, reduce fabrication costs, or enhance assembly efficiency.
- Software Improvement: Collaborate with the quoting software team to provide feedback that improves the accuracy of automated quoting systems.
- Technical Documentation: Generate high-quality 2D drawings in compliance with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards.
You will report to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering (US) & Global Standards. The role requires strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
