Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Altius Launch Team (ALT) at Arsenal-1, a hyperscale manufacturing facility in Ashville, Ohio. This role is central to industrializing Altius, a family of tube-launched autonomous drones that represent the cutting edge of defense technology.
You will own the entire manufacturing value chain for Altius, from current production rates to high-volume deployment. Your responsibilities span design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback into design, tool design and selection, creation and optimization of high-rate production lines, strategic vendor partnerships, quality assurance integration, and comprehensive process documentation.
Key responsibilities include executing manufacturing from prototyping through full-scale production, collaborating with design engineers on DFM best practices, acting as manufacturing liaison for mechanical fabrication and avionics, owning critical documentation (MBOMs, work instructions), advising on quality management programs, capacity planning, continuous improvement analysis, fostering innovation and accountability within the team, developing production and test methodologies, and traveling to supplier and partner sites for sourcing and problem-solving.
This is a high-impact role where you'll scale a critical defense product with immediate real-world military applications. You'll work under pressure to meet urgent national security needs while maintaining world-class quality standards.
Note: This role requires relocation to Costa Mesa, CA for 1 month of training and Atlanta, GA for 2 months of training. Housing and transportation are provided during these periods.
