Salary: USD 96,350 - 204,090 / annual
Divergent 3D is building the next generation of industrial manufacturing, serving aerospace, defense, and automotive OEMs with advanced integrated engineering and manufacturing platforms. The Manufacturing Engineer role bridges design and production, optimizing designs for manufacturability while enhancing processes to support high-reliability hardware.
Key responsibilities include end-to-end manufacturing ownership of multiple development and production products, serving as technical lead for all manufacturing processes. You will develop, implement, and refine scalable manufacturing processes aligned with Divergent's technology roadmap, driving improvements in yield, cycle times, and first-pass quality through data-driven continuous improvement. The role involves identifying and implementing automation opportunities, staying current on emerging manufacturing technologies, and integrating innovative solutions to advance competitive position.
You will lead new product concepts and designs through the factory, ensuring efficient troubleshooting and rapid iteration to meet aggressive timelines. Design for Manufacturability (DFM) strategies are implemented early in the design process through cross-functional collaboration. You'll introduce new equipment, tooling, and processes with rigorous testing and validation to support high-reliability manufacturing.
Compliance and quality assurance are critical: developing comprehensive manufacturing documentation including work instructions and process plans, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and other quality standards. You'll lead efforts to resolve hardware nonconformance issues and act as technical lead in troubleshooting complex manufacturing problems.
The role includes providing technical guidance to manufacturing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning, leading cross-functional product/program teams, and supporting the Director of Manufacturing Engineering in team growth initiatives.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; significant aerospace or defense industry exposure; proficiency in CAD software (Siemens NX, AutoCAD) and strong GD&T understanding; experience with MES, PLM, and ERP systems; hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing techniques including additive manufacturing, robotics, or automation; proven track record leading complex projects from concept through production in high-performance materials and high-reliability applications.
Preferred: Master's degree in relevant engineering discipline; Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement expertise; familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001; demonstrated ability to thrive in high-tech, fast-paced startup environment.
