You will join the Controllership Team as Manager of Technical Accounting and Reporting, reporting to the Assistant Global Controller. This role combines technical accounting expertise with operational excellence, focusing on modernizing the close process through AI adoption and scalable accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including preparation of the statement of cash flows.
- Manage equity and stock-based compensation accounting in partnership with Equity Administration, ensuring accurate and timely treatment.
- Lead resolution of complex technical accounting matters, documenting conclusions through technical memoranda, accounting policies, journal entries, financial statement presentation, footnote disclosures, and process documentation.
- Serve as primary accounting contact for external auditors, managing PBC requests, preparing memorandums, drafting financial statements and footnotes, and performing tie-outs.
- Develop and maintain expertise on complex U.S. GAAP technical accounting matters including classification, measurement, presentation, disclosure, and recurring close processes.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and update accounting policies and memorandums to ensure consistent application across the company.
- Perform monthly variance analysis and communicate material movements to finance leadership.
- Monitor emerging accounting standards and translate new guidance into policies, implementation plans, disclosures, and scalable processes.
- Apply AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to streamline technical accounting workflows and accelerate the close.
- Partner with FP&A, Legal, Revenue, People, and Operations teams on new initiatives and ad hoc finance needs.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Active CPA license required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting; Big 4 or national firm experience strongly preferred.
- Broad U.S. GAAP expertise including revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, capitalized internal-use software, fixed assets and intangibles, impairment, financial statement presentation, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity/currency structures.
- Experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and equity rollforward.
- Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP systems, close management tools (FloQast, Numeric), and equity administration systems (Carta, Slice).
- Demonstrated ability to draft and review audit-ready technical memorandums, implement conclusions in recurring operations, work constructively with external auditors, and ground conclusions in evidence and authoritative guidance.
- Clear understanding of how technical accounting decisions flow through journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, controls, financial statements, and external reporting.
- Advanced Excel proficiency with large datasets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
- Hands-on proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) applied to accounting workflows preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to independently reconcile and resolve discrepancies.
- Demonstrated track record of ownership and self-motivation.
