As Manager of Spacecraft Actuators at Impulse, you will lead a team of experienced engineers responsible for the full lifecycle of spacecraft actuator systems—from clean-sheet design through flight operations and continuous improvement. Your scope includes high-speed rotary devices, EMA throttle valves, fluid pumps, and precision thrust vector control actuators across multiple spacecraft platforms. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and growing a team of senior engineers working on actuator design, analysis, and implementation - Defining the actuator product roadmap in collaboration with partner teams, leadership, and business development - Architecting and implementing engineering processes to accelerate actuator development, testing, and sustainment through production ramp - Planning and executing comprehensive test campaigns - Coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to deliver reliable, high-performing components to flight vehicles - Maintaining direct technical ownership and contributing as an individual contributor on critical actuator work You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment focused on producing high-performance spacecraft components. The role requires both strong people leadership and deep technical expertise in actuator systems. Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field - Proven track record developing, testing, and flying multiple mechanisms or actuators in space as a technical individual contributor - Strong technical knowledge in one or more actuator component types - Professional experience managing and growing engineering teams
