1Password is seeking a Manager of Solutions Engineering to lead a team supporting commercial customers and channel-led opportunities across North America. You'll manage Solutions Engineers who help customers solve complex identity and security challenges through technical discovery, solution design, and partnership with Sales throughout the buying process.
In this role, you'll establish consistent approaches to discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical validation. You'll partner closely with Sales, Channel, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Engineering to deliver thoughtful customer experiences and strengthen 1Password's position as a trusted security partner. You'll coach team members through complex customer conversations while supporting their growth and development, and build strong relationships with channel partners including MSPs, VARs, and distributors.
You'll report to the Senior Manager, Sales Engineering and be responsible for shaping account strategy, identifying technical risks, and advancing opportunities toward technical wins. The role requires balancing technical depth, customer needs, deal strategy, and team capacity while leading change and creating clarity as the organization evolves.
Required background includes experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or related customer-facing technical consulting supporting complex, consultative sales cycles. You should have proven experience leading or mentoring technical teams, with ability to coach technical storytelling, executive communication, and business value alignment. Strong channel experience with MSPs, VARs, and technology partners is essential, along with a technical foundation in identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), authentication, cloud platforms, and SaaS integrations.
You should be familiar with enterprise sales methodologies like MEDDPICC, have practical experience with Large Language Models and AI copilots for improving productivity, and understand APIs, scripting, and automation platforms. The ideal candidate demonstrates influence and communication skills, strong judgment in prioritization, change leadership capabilities, and a commitment to coaching and accountability.
Note: All go-to-market roles require in-person onboarding in Toronto. This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
